A Copywriter’s Guide to Stress-Free Blogging

More icon arrow down green color

Blogging is important nowadays. And stress-free blogging is the key to a successful blog.

What I mean by this is – don’t stress out about writing your blog!

Don’t chew over what words to use, or worry how you’re going to sort those sentences into the smartest possible order.

As a creative copywriter, or anyone else with a blog, your ideas should flow onto the webpage naturally and easily. Us readers want your genuine ideas about the topic – not a brilliantly-crafted piece of copy.

If you write it naturally and cheerfully – then we’ll read it like that. If you write it like an emotionally-detached robot, we won’t be interested.

So here are 3 invaluable tips to good stress-free blogging…

1. Talk to your readers

I mean really talk to them. Like they are sitting with you in the room.

Be personal. Address them personally by using the word ‘you’ and talk about things they can relate to.

If you write like you’re talking to a mate (as in the British word for ‘friend’ – not a sexual partner!), then your readers will feel like one. They’ll take in everything you’re saying, feel comfortable reading your thoughts and will come visit again.

They’ll trust you.

2. Don’t think, just write

This is how you can blog with ease. Once you start thinking before every word then you start worrying. You worry about the best sentence structure and the ideal words to slot in etc. As a copywriter with creative skills, you may feel like you should represent your talent with every paragraph.

But trust me, fluidity is the key to blogging.

Write down your thoughts as they come to you and your readers will appreciate your honesty and genuine-ness. (And if you end up writing words that you aren’t sure really exist – like genuine-ness – just go for it!).

If you make mistakes along the way, you can always edit afterwards.

3. Know your topic

If you don’t, then how can you educate others?

Knowing your stuff is crucial. If you’re blogging for an employer on a subject you’re clueless about, then read-up on it!

Learn about it and get interested in it, quickly. Otherwise your readers won’t be interested in what you have to say. A truly creative copywriter should have the skill to absorb any new topic with speed and grace.

So if you need a talented blogger to reel in your customers and keep them engaged, then get in touch with us immediately!

Cheers guys and girls. See you soon. Have a stress-free week!

A great way to get a even bigger boom from your article marketing should be to cross reference subject-related content articles between each other.

I find it really hard to flow when im writing my blog, i have on many occasions actually sat there and wrote down bullet points instead of just powering through writing as how i talk.
I suppose practise makes perfect and im picking up tips all the time – English never was my strong point though im more technically minded.

I have a cooking blog and I just let the words flow freely out of my brain for a rough draft of sorts. Then I will go through and clean it up and make something presentable for my readers. It’s the best way I know of for blogging without stressing. 🙂

Talking to you readers is not only a good way to relieve the stress of writing new content, it also helps them better connect with you and you can build a good following.

It does that taking a more relaxed approach to blogging does make for friendly conversation. I have found that by cutting back on how many other blogs I read, I am able to produce better content for my own.

There is such a thing as stress free blogging? I am really excited about this, I have been blogging for many years and I think I must be getting burned out because it seems like I have to force my content. I am going to use some of your tips!

Hi Milayka. You definitely should! The best thing is to just spill your brains onto the page, and edit afterwards.
And don’t be too meticulous about editing either – because while you’ve taken a week to fine-tune one blog post, your competitor will have banged out 10 articles!
Who do you think will get more traffic?

What about posting frequency? Do you think a blogger posting 5 to 10 articles per month can compete with AI-fueled websites that publish hundreds of articles per day?

Hey Ziga, I’m glad you raised that question. Well, it’s not really about the quantity of posts/articles one can do per month. I’d say even 2 posts a month, backed with good content and SEO, would do well in competing with AI-fueled websites. Cheers!
