“Please please please please please please – pretty please – can I write a guest post on your absolutely fabulous blog?” – I asked social media expert Andrea Vahl gracefully, without a hint of desperation in my voice.

Of course she was charmed by my nonchalant approach, and said yes.

“Write something that will really benefit my readers” Andrea told me. “Something about social media, that’s super useful”

And what came to follow was one of the most epically educational blog posts to ever grace your screens (if I may say so myself). A thoroughly in-depth and beautifully written explanation of the psychology of powerful tweet formulas, and how to persuade your followers to click those all-important links!

It’s called: 14 Ways to Write a Customer-Gripping Tweet. And I absolutely insist you read it this instant!

Well since you insisted, I simply had to read it. You are correct, that’s good stuff 🙂 I am a bad twitter bird. I try to use every ounce of space & I then have to figure out how to shorten words. I will try your suggestions to see if I get better results. Its one of the mediums that I don’t put much into because I wasn’t really seeing any results. Perhaps its because I couldn’t figure out how to be engaging. Thanks for sharing, I am already trying to figure out my next tweet to see if I can make it more interesting.

Thanks for reading the post Kellie – I’m glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully you’ll start to see some better results now… although remember that you shouldn’t just post promotional tweets, it should only be 1 out of 6 promotional tweets. The rest should be curating other people’s content, interacting with followers and influencers, and offering your knowledge out (e.g. tips or quotes etc). Every now and then throw a pic in there too – they get really grab attention!
